SUNY Broome Community College seeks a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track Instructional Designer to provide faculty with course design support in creating effective and engaging learning environments informed by learning outcomes.
The candidate will provide pedagogical and technical support for innovative traditional, fully online asynchronous and Hyflex courses. The Instructional Designer will consult with faculty from diverse disciplines to identify course goals and applicable evidence-based instructional strategies. The Instructional Designer will work closely and collaboratively at the campus level and across SUNY, and will conduct workshops and individual training sessions, host webinars, and create user guides and video tutorials on topics such as pedagogy, online teaching, the learning management system, quality course design, digital content accessibility, and the integration of instructional technologies.
The Instructional Designer also tracks new course development progress, monitors ongoing courses, completes course quality reviews, and troubleshoots problems in technology and course delivery for courses using digital content.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Distance Learning, College Teaching or a directly related field.
The ideal candidate should have experience with faculty training and development and have excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. In addition, experience with and knowledge of learning management systems, educational technologies, digital content accessibility, and software applications, as well as the ability to provide support and troubleshooting are fundamental to this role.
Experience using SUNY's OSCQR rubric or equivalent is desired.

Additional Information:
The minimum salary for this position is $60,486.
Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
